Riverside Baptist Church

About Riverside Baptist Church

It is our desire to exalt Christ Jesus our Lord in all that we do. Therefore, without apology, we preach the doctrines of God’s free and Sovereign Grace.

About Us

We are a small Church situated in the South Central Mountains of West Virginia near the Monongahela National Forest. The Church was founded in 1948. From the beginning , the Church has held to what are commonly know as the Baptist distinctives. The Church has in the past and still does claim the precepts of the New Hampshire Confession of Faith. It is our desire to exalt Christ Jesus our Lord in all that we do. Therefore, without apology, we preach the doctrines of God’s free and Sovereign Grace. We are committed to the directives of the Great Commission and therefore we press the necessity of the Gospel to all. It would be our delight to welcome you to any and all of our services.

Pastor K.D. Bradshaw

Born and Raised in Wayne County, West Virginia, K. D. Bradshaw (Brother Kim) is the fifth generation (maternal) of an unbroken line of Baptist preachers, teachers, and pastors.

He presents an uncompromising message of God's Sovereign Grace, Christ's Kingship and the doctrines of the New Covenant. Modern, popular interpretations of scripture are rejected outright as perversions of the Gospel.

Rather, to "Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16)

He is also a staunch believer in liberty, freedom, and the natural rights bestowed to all men by our Creator.

Brother Kim is a widower with five children and eight grandchildren; has been a lifelong fly fisherman, bowhunter, and enjoys the days on Kennison mountain spent with his English Setters.

His daily prayer is from 1 Cor 15:10, "But by the grace of God I am what I am; and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain...".

Honoring the Faithful Ministry of Pastor Seacrist

After more than five decades of faithfully preaching the Gospel and shepherding the flock at Riverside Baptist Church, Pastor Seacrist has announced his retirement from active pastoral ministry.

Born in the Kanawha Valley of West Virginia in 1942, Pastor Seacrist came to know the Lord in 1963 and answered God’s call to preach shortly thereafter. Over the years, his journey has been marked by unwavering dedication to the Sovereign Grace of God and the proclamation of the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In 1971, Pastor Seacrist and his wife, Suzetta, along with their three young sons, moved to Richwood where he became pastor of Riverside Baptist Church. For more than fifty years, he has faithfully served this congregation—teaching, counseling, and preaching the unchanging truths of God’s Word. His ministry has touched countless lives, both within the church and throughout the surrounding community.

Though he now steps down from the pulpit, his influence will continue to guide and inspire those who have been blessed by his leadership and example. We, the members of Riverside Baptist Church, give thanks to the Lord for Pastor Seacrist’s lifelong service, steadfast faith, and tireless devotion to exalting Jesus Christ in all things.

“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15

Questions?

We know going to a new church that you may have questions. We have some of our most asked ones listed for you.

What do you believe?

We believe that God is Triune and consists of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God and God, and the Holy Spirit. We follow the New Hampshire Baptist Confession of 1833.

How should I dress?

The important thing is knowing that a church is a family not a building. As a family we don't judge anyone on their appearance. Feel free to come casual or dress up if you would like.

What can I expect?

You can expect to be welcomed by our friendly church family and Pastor Seacrist. We will then begin with singing of hymns in praise to God. Then Pastor Seacrist will bring forth a Word from God based upon biblical teachings, not mans.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

Matthew 11:28-29
